This website is being bombarded by competing companies making false complaints against good companies because they can’t compete fairly. complaintsboard.com should be discontinued

The phone number listed by Sydney is no longer a valid number. Our company, as well as other companies that we compete with on a friendly level, have been attacked online by one malicious and crooked competitor posing as a customer on complaintsboard.com The accusations are false. This person attacked two of us on many different websites, using the same emails, all on the same date, while promoting his own business with the same fictitious emails. I was able to correct a few myself. I have had to hire someone to correct the rest. Complaintsboard.com has no phone number on there website that I can find, nor does it have an easy way to dispute any of this. This website is dangerous! We had no warning of this. They just put whatever anyone says about you on the web without verifying anything. They need to give it validity by verifying claims, and give companies a chance to rebuke false info or correct legitimate customer concerns. If not, google needs to remove them from the natural searches.

I think Daniel says it right. This is a dangerous site. This society is a social wilderness, and there is no gate, no fence nor block at this open field. In my case, I innocently submitted complaint on a persons’ name, a lawyer, and put the word, simply, “fraud” in the subject box. At the time, I thought it was true.
Well, my perception of the case has changed, and this lawyer says he is going to get my money, my reason for complaining, back to me. I go to take the posting down, and, whoops!
Not possible, not even for the originator, to take down, or even make corrections to… his own complaint. What?
So, now, I may even be liable to this lawyer, defamation and such.
He calls today, says he has lost two more clients. So far, he is constrained in his interaction with me. You can tell he is stressed, tho…
Because google his name and it goes straight to my complaint, and that word that haunts me now, ‘fraud’.
I guess I do need to talk to the boys at Google.
There is a link at ComplaintsBoard.com to submit an eMail.
I wrote, pleading, to have my postings taken down. We will see.
Meanwhile, small minds have a mighty horn, mega-biter,
    there at ComplaintsBoard.com

complaintsboard.com along with the other “rip off report” sites are illegally posting slanderous/libel/deformatory content. This is illegal, and it is especially destroying the smaller business owners and is affecting the larger corporations by allowing just anyone, especially ruthless competitors to post false, slanderous lies with absolutely no proof from the criminals who are making these false statements. Something has to be done regarding these sites. WHY is our government allowing these sites to continue the work of Satan? What can be done?

I spoke to someone at complaintsboard.com at and was told that EVERYONE in customer service was in an indefinite meeting and could not speak to me.

How is it customer service if there is no one to service the customer.

I am actually a user with just sign in problems.

Members of my family have been stalked by my son’s past girlfriend on the complaints board site. She has written the most disgusting lies and has posted pictures that she stole from Facebook. All of this because he broke up with her 7 or 8 years ago!!! This goes to show you what kind of website it is. They allow anything and it is not just free speech!

I totally agree with everybody. ComplaintsBoard has been a place for my ex-employee’s and competition to slander my company. I could do the same to them but I don’t do business that way. What is everybody doing to get ComplaintsBoard taken down?

While a great number of the complaints on this site are frivolous, there are genuine and legitimate gripes from consumers. I would like to say that while many of you people are chomping for the removal of this site, remember a few important things:

    1. If you are being stalked or harassed, that is what the LAW is for. Call an attorney and sue the idiot.

    2. When you start demanding that free speech only apply to you, eventually, it will not apply to ANYONE. You may not agree with a person’s opinion, but they have a right just as you do to express it. Take their right away, and you take your own away.

    3. There are people on this site who know BS when they read it, me being one of those. There are people who call it out and refute the BS claims. So not only are you ignoring the law when you need it, trampling on your free speech, you are allowing people to bad mouth companies with no rebuttals.

    4. While you are nailing CB to the cross, remember that there are several more sites out there for people to post their gripes. Just google ‘complaints’ and you will have a whole lot to choose from.

These whiners will simply find another avenue to complain. At least on CB, we had a chance to call them out.

    Andrea,

In today’s world, everyone wants to be an “authority.” Your brand (complaintsboard.com) of freedom of speech is let anyone make an accusation and in the response the truth will eventually emerge. You (complaintsboard) state by taking away their freedom to complain, we as an injured party lose our freedom to set the record straight. I don’t know what journalism school you (complaintsboard) went to but that line of think perverts the first amendment. If complaintboard wanted truly to be relevant, it would verify each complaint for legitimacy and accuracy. Not just repeat unfounded and unsubstantiated rumor. Yea, that’s hard. But that’s the difference between an legitimate news organization and a legitimate resource site versus someone in their underwear in front of a computer pretending to be Clark Kent. At worst, it’s a genius scam to post fake complaints about one company and charge them to remove them by another.

Maybe you don’t get it, but complaintsboard.com is being used as a marketing tool…if you have a problem with a company, call your states Attorney Gerneral or the BBB if it was that bad, otherwise, don’t sit on your dead butt and whine and act tough behind a computer.

There are legitmate companies being hurt by this website…period.

Understand that these types of sites get many false complaints that hurt many businesses…and if you don’t understand that, then continue to work at McDonalds and make sure my fries aren’t burnt when I stop by or I will complain about you.

Complaints Board is nothing short of pure evil. It has been proven in several defamation hearings that CB authors many of the libelous comments on their own site. Reputation Police and Reputation Armor are known to be affiliated with CB. This proves that CB is not truly a consumer advocacy board. If it were, it would do nothing to hinder one’s right to free speech. Clearly they are choosing when to abide by their own consumer advocacy paradigm, and when not to.

The number 1 listing on Google for my company’s name and main product is a complaint that was posted 5 days before we sold our first copy.

There is absolutely no disputing its false because the complainer could not have possibly had a copy.

It is damaging and needs to be removed but how?

It very unfortunate that this website allows anyone to post anything about what ever topic they choose.

At least with the BBB complaints are investigated and companies are offered a copy of the complaint.

    The issue is quite simple:
Competitors or clients can post what they wish and the company get NO formal or otherwise notification of this.
When companies find the posting they are however able to retract the allegation. This does not change anything as the initial complaint stays in their system and then is picked by other such websites for posting.
When a potential client googles your name or business name it shows up on page 1 of google and this deters clients from doing business with you period.

We had our competition slander our company on complaintsboard and even posted links to their websites in the complaint. Even though it is a violation of their terms of service, ComplaintsBoard won’t remove them. They posed as customers who claim to have purchased from us but when we looked up their names in our system we see that they never placed any orders with us. They even said in the complaint order numbers which are numbers we have never used for any transactions.

I found it interesting that Google has done nothing to deter the complaints board listing. But then realized that when you look at the complaints page it is loaded with “sponsored links” So it seems to be a huge money maker for both the complaints board and GOOGLE.

This may also must be the reason it ranks so high on the Google listings pages for all of us.

I dont know who to contact and am totally devistated that this is allowed to happen in my country South Africa.

yes i am also agreeing with all of you guys..we also requested complaints board and gave them around 12 legal proofs, but still they can’t consider anyone..thats a fraud site..many companies lost so much because of that site, and its surprising that google still can’t able to take any action against them..i think complaintsboard.com will be blacklisted from the internet so that good companies never lose there reputation on internet,we all appreciate this site effort to start a good and genuine discussion against them.

how could the complaints board judge the authenticity or truth of the
complaint posted. Its just hitting on someone’s reputation without knowing the
facts. Its strictly be discontinued as we find no contact or method to even get them removed.

ComplaintsBoard – Really nothing more than pure marketing of bad “comments” to make a true income, sadly we have also been a victim to this and it always comes from the same person that has bad intentions.

The “customer” that we had did not agree with the actions we took against him when he/she was spamming off our network, he later posted more comments that were nothing but slander, mis-leading, and that were of a derogatory nature.

Sadly, there does not seem to be a way to have these comments removed, there is no phone number listed anywhere, the only way that I can see to have the comments removed are through methods of “Court Orders” and to even get that far you need to spend money which in some cases may not even be worth the hassle.

Most of the comments about us are mis-leading in so many ways, the username does not match any of our billing records, none of the addresses provided matches any of our records, so it is safe to say the user/customer is misguiding via means that are somewhat criminalized and we have no means of tracking down who the user is.

There has to be a way other than a court order, though at this point in time it is one of those hard to remove situations where you are in the right but the customer is in the wrong – some are not even customers at all and are using the service as a competition to try and bring reputable providers down for no apparent reason other than to try and get ahead.
